Controls Graphic Designer

Location: San Jose, CA

Therma’s Controls team is in an immediate need of a Graphic Designer! Do you have experience working with Controls Systems? Are you organized, and detail orientated? If so, we need you!

The Controls Graphic Designer will be responsible developing and creating HVAC system control graphics, building floor plan layouts, and monitoring graphics for Therma’s Building Automation Systems Controls Department. This role will be responsible for assisting the engineering team with graphics and remaining within the scope of work defined by the Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete graphic design scope within project budget and schedule
  • Follow project/customer specifications when completing graphics for a customer
  • High attention to detail required when building equipment graphics.
  • Assist lead programmers with design and development of graphics, and support delivery of graphics to the jobsite to meet completion schedules.
  • Must be able to work on more than one project at a time
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to identify graphic design issues and notify your project manager and team as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project completion dates
  • Maintain a copy of the latest graphics as-built of completed jobs in project folder for the department.
  • Support efficiency initiatives Graphics Standardization/Centralization.
  • Niagara AX or N4 Certified is preferred
  • Dglux experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Under general supervision, develops and updates project implementation plans, coordinating resources to insure timely and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects or tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
  • Effectively communicates project status to management.
  • Ensures profitable completion of each project or task. Maintains profitability goals.
  • Manages and provides documentation for the project file including correspondence, requests for information and timelines. High quality communication adhering to company standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in AutoCAD or Visio, Photoshop, Archicad,and familiarity with the concepts of design build, new construction and database software and familiarity with the concepts of design build, new construction, renovation/retrofit
  • This individual must also be flexible enough to work with a small department that is effectively in “start-up” mode and will need to work on a variety of tasks to help the department perform tasks typically associated only with Controls Engineers or PM assistants.
  • BACnet and LONworks experience
