Estimating Assistant

Location: San Jose, CA

Therma LLC has an immediate need for an Estimating Assistant in the Estimating department located in San Jose, CA. The Estimating Assistant will be responsible for administrative support of the estimating function and will be responsible for preparing cost estimates by distributing bid docs and contacting vendors regarding requirements, deadlines, job walks, and general coordination and support of estimators. This is a training position and will require a high level of organization, writing skills and a high level of verbal communication. This position has the potential for promotion to the estimating position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep project logs and vendor quote logs up to date.
  • Assist estimators with email communications and word processing/formatting (proficiency in Microsoft Excel required).
  • Manage server files and emails (bid docs and addendums to bid docs).
  • Administration and tracking of bids.
  • Generate bid invitations, contact subcontractors to secure bids, log responses, issue plans and specifications of project.
  • Maintain and update bidding database.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School or Associates Degree.
  • Construction experience a plus.
  • Excellent phone manners and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite necessary, specifically Excel.
